The Postgraduate Program in Anthropology of UFPA, in a meeting of its collegiate, on 08/08/2018, after examining Official Letter No. 245/2018-GAB / PR of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES), is joining the IFCH and other instances of several public institutions of Brazilian education and research, as well as numerous associations and class organs, in expressing deep concern and indignation at the possibility of even greater cuts in the budget for education, science and technology in 2019.
It is imperative that no reduction be made in investments in education and in the scientific and technological development of the country. The prospect that fellows and other components of the scientific-technological and postgraduate system are even more limited is alarming, as it will bring serious long-term damage to all sectors of the Nation, jeopardizing our sovereignty and the well-being of the population.
